Jake avoids talking about Griffin, Nick talks and Jack stresses out.
After Jake punches Griffin at the hospital, he walks away and Tad follows him. Amanda apologizes to Griffin, who admits he and Jake crossed paths a few years back, but he barely knew him.
Jake tends to his hand in another part of the hospital while Tad tells him Griffin is a surgeon. All Jake knows is that he's the man who stole his wife – Cara. Griffin was the guy who was in the truck Cara took off in.
Jake returns to Griffin and Amanda and asks Griffin what he's doing there. Griffin tells Jake he came there to see David and also to work on the Miranda Center courtesy of Zach. Griffin leaves to check on Opal and Tad follows him. Amanda asks Jake what's going on, but Jake won't give her a straight answer.
At ConFusion, Liza piles on the work for Damon, who just wants to have a life and spend time with Colby. She tells him to go, but he doesn't feel right about leaving her alone, worried she might faint again. She tells him no one would care if she did because everyone hates her. Damon assures her he's on her side. She can't believe she tried so hard to get him out of Colby's life. She admits she underestimated him.
Damon brings Liza to the hospital because she's falling over from exhaustion. He goes to find a doctor and Tad finds Liza alone. They have words about Greenlee's trial and then Tad tells her about Opal. She feels bad about the fight they had before Opal's heart issues. Tad doesn’t blame her, but Liza says the case is making her edgy and asks Tad to apologize to Opal for her. Tad walks away as Damon returns. Liza tells him she's not staying, but Damon wants her to make sure she's in top form for the trial tomorrow.
Tad stops in on his mother who is getting checked out by Dr. Castillo. Opal continues to be impressed by the hot doc, but Tad confronts him out in the hallway about Jake. Griffin says Jake's attitude isn't his problem and walks away.
Griffin runs into Jake near the hospital desk and tells him he and Cara haven't been together for a long time. Griffin then says Amanda is very beautiful and it seems like they have a good thing. Jake doesn’t want to talk about his current wife. Griffin says if Cara left Jake, it wasn't because of him.
Opal summons Griffin back to her room to lavish him with compliments and adoration. She wonders if he likes cutting people open and holding their hearts in his hands. He gets thoughtful and tells her he does. He talks about how different each heart is. When a man's heart is in trouble it's obvious, but the woman's heart is more delicate and complex. They never know what makes the heart sad or why it wants what it wants.
Jake and Amanda go to ConFusion. Amanda presses him to tell her what 's going on, but he needs to be in the moment. He calls her the love of his life and kisses her.
Jack and Krystal work on some paperwork at his place, but Jack is distracted by thoughts of Greenlee and the mess she's in right now. Erica calls Jack, who downplays the severity of the situation. After he hangs up he wonders to Krystal if Greenlee should just keep running so she is safe and free. Krystal tries to help, but he snaps at her. He apologizes and thanks her for holding his hand, but tells her to go.
Jack goes to the courtroom and beats himself up for putting Greenlee on the stand. Krystal enters to bolster his spirits, but he can only see what he's done wrong regarding his daughter. Jack becomes enraged and loses it, which is what he thinks Krystal was trying to get him to do.
In the cave, Greenlee tells Ryan if it all ends tomorrow, she will have no regrets. She wants to prepare herself for the worst case scenario, which would be her on the run alone. He says if she runs, he will never stop fighting to bring her home. Greenlee and Ryan take off on the beach to find Nick, which they do. They bring him back to the cave and tell him David's plan backfired – Ryan's not being prosecuted, she is. She says if Nick helps her, she'll do everything she can to help him too. After more pleading from Greenlee, Nick admits David heard him trashing Ryan at a bar and then paid him to put a vial in his pocket. David told him his life was over and all that was left was revenge. Ryan and Greenlee think that's all they need to get the charges against Greenlee dropped. Nick says he's not going in front of any judge and runs out of the cave. Ryan goes after him, but can't catch him. Ryan returns and reveals to Greenlee he recorded Nick's confession. Ryan also swiped Nick's cell phone and Greenlee calls Jack to tell him what just went down. Jack in turn tells her the verdict is coming in tomorrow and Greenlee says they will be back tomorrow afternoon. After they hang up, Ryan tells her they will finally clear her name and then kisses her.
Jack calls Liza, who just got a clean bill of health at the hospital, about the new evidence, but she doesn't think it's even admissible at this point. When she gets of the phone, Tad smiles upon hearing there is new evidence that could clear Greenlee. Whatever happens though, he knows Liza will be fine. She questions this, but he tells her he wants her to be happy.
