The fan faithful can look forward to an emotional - and exciting - summer in Pine Valley. ABC Daytime has announced that two veteran soap writers are taking over the helm of All My Children. Barbara J. Esensten and James Harmon Brown are now onboard!

Former head writer Megan McTavish was ousted in February. You can read that story here.

Esensten and Harmon have written for soaps dramas such as Days Of Our Lives (January 2007), Dynasty, Guiding Light (from 1994-1997) and One Life To Live (2004-2005)among other shows.

Disney/ ABC's daytime chief, Brian Scott Frons said, "Fans can expect an exciting summer in Pine Valley and can look forward to even more of the romance and intrigue they have come to love and look for on All My Children."

Barbara J. Esensten and James Harmon Brown are Emmy Award winning writers. Both were nominated for Emmy Awards in 2006 (for their writing on OLTL) and 1999 (for their writing on GL); they won the Best Writing Emmy in 1993 for their work on GL. The duo has also been nominated for Writer's Guild of America Awards for their work on soaps.

I have watched All My Children since I was a child. I watched with my mother. I remember the very fisrt story line. Who was Philip Brents birth mother. Of course it was Amy, Ruth Martin's sister, and his dad was Nick Davis.

I just wanted to commented on the new Greenlee. Yuck!!!! I feel as if she is just reading the lines. The role should be recast because I like the story line of Greenlee but this actress has got to go.

live and general hospital since they started. I am now 45
years old. They should recast Greenlee, this actress (stinks)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I just hope that they don't persue this Zach and Hannah thing. We finally had one faithful power-couple on this soap and it would be a shame to lose Zach and Kendall. Too many things do end up changing and I'll probably stop watching.
