Ex-AMC's Jill Larson At Steel Magnolias Reading.

    Thursday, August 30 2012

    Jill Larson (Nikki Nelson/WENN.com)
    Celebrating 25 years.

Jill Larson (ex-Opal) is taking part in the 25th anniversary reading of "Steel Magnolias." It will take place at Santa Monica's Broad Stage on September 9 and will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Robert Harling's "Steel Magnolias" is about a circle of friends supporting each other in Louisiana, often while patronizing Truvy's Beauty Parlor. While the 1989 movie starred Sally Field ("The Amazing Spider-Man"), Julia Roberts ("Mirror Mirror") and Dolly Parton ("Joyful Noise"), the Larson hosted reading will feature Mae Whitman ("Parenthood"), Jennifer Coolidge ("American Pie") and Annie Potts ("GCB"). "Steel Magnolias" is currently being remade with Queen Latifa ("Single Ladies"), Alfre Woodard ("True Blood") and Phylicia Rashad ("Do No Harm").

The Broad Stage is located at 1310 11th St, Santa Monica, California. The reading will begin at 6:00 PM. For tickets go to Steel Magnolias – 25 Years.
