Sarah Michelle Gellar ("All My Children's" ex-Kendall) will be honored at The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's (GLAZA) 42nd Annual Beastly Ball on June 16. Per Broadway World, she will receive the Tom Mankiewicz Leadership Award, which recognizes members of the entertainment industry who have established meaningful and lasting programs that contribute to the welfare of the world's natural and civic environment.

Gellar is being honored for her work as a GLAZA Trustee and for her advocacy of various charities. Rocker Slash was the recipient last year of the inaugural award, which was named after the late Tom Mankiewicz, a writer and director who was passionate about saving and protecting wildlife and the environment.

The ball will be held at the Los Angeles Zoo, where guests will tour after hours and participate in feedings and animal walkabouts. Comedian Jimmy Pardo will serve as the MC for the event, which will feature live and silent auctions, entertainment and dancing. Past fundraisers have raised roughly $1 million for the zoo.
