Dixie Martin: Bad or Simply Misunderstood?

    Sunday, October 15 2006

    Cady McClain (ABC)
Dixie Martin has gone from being one of daytime's most beloved characters to one of the most reviled. Is Dixie an unfeeling shrew or a good woman who's been through some terrible experiences? According to the actress who plays her, Cady McClain, it's a little of both.

In her blog "Confessions of a Mad Soap Star", Cady recently commented:

"In order to stay away from her family, I think Dixie had to shut down an area of her heart. I think the loss of her little girl was like the loss of the softest part of herself. There is an old wives' tale that says women give their beauty to their daughters, and I think there is some truth to that for Dixie."

Cady I was glad to see you brought back as Dixie. I loved the character of sweetie incentant Dixie.
But I didn't like the mean vindictive person they brought back. Talk about a vixson. You play it well. But aske the writers to lighten up, enough is enough. Get rid ot the vixson. Just go back to being a kinder person on the show.
I have watched the AMC from the 1st show, and honestly sometimes I wonder where the writers minds are at.
I know it's just a soap but does it have to be so much garage that you want to gag.
    Thanks for listening.
    Your Ohiofan.
