    Charles Pratt Jr. Is Officially The New Head Writer of All My Children

    It's been rumored about and hinted at for months, and finally ABC has made the official announcement: Charles Pratt, Jr. is the new headwriter for All My Children. Pratt will also be a consulting producer for the soap; he will official begin his new duties on June 23, 2008.

    Charles Pratt, Jr. is a former General Hospital and has also written for nighttime series such as Desperate Housewives, and Melrose Place. He also serves as one of the Santa Barbara writers. Pratt has been nominated for several Daytime Emmy Awards and won Emmy's in 1989, 1991 and 2003.

    "I am incredibly excited to welcome Chuck as headwriter of 'All My Children.' I look forward to his contemporary storytelling sensibility, his warmth and sense of humor enriching the entire canvas of Pine Valley," says executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers.

    Pratt replaces former co-headwriters Barbara Esensten and James Harmon Brown. They took over the writing reigns of the show in May, 2007. Esensten and Brown were responsible for the Spike is Deaf storyline and for the return of Greenlee as well as bringing Annie's demented brother Richie Novak to Pine Valley.

    Thank God! The show has been unwatchable the last year. Even Angie and Jessie's wedding was ruined by that awful singer and the stupid helicopter crash. The women of Fusion (and their boyfriends) have become totally boring. I wish Mr. Pratt could work with Agnes Nixon for a while and let her help get the show back on track. What was once a can't miss soap has become a can't watch soap (and flashbacks recently back to the 80s made one realize how good it used to be).

    AS FOR JESSIE AND ANGIES WEDDING THAT WAS A GOOD PLOT AND NEYO IS A GREAT SINGER,I WOULD NOT WANT YOUR OPINION ON MUSIC,IT IS EASY TO SEE,THAT YOU ARE NOT INTO GOOD R&B MUSIC.AND THE NEW HEAD WRITER IS DUE,THEY SHOULD HAVE KNEW,THAT WITH THESE TWO WRITERS,WHO HAVE BEEN ON CANCELLED SHOWS,THEY WERE NOT GOING, TO BE AROUND LONG,SOME PLOTS WERE GOOD, ANGIE AND JESSIE AND THEIR KIDS IS WHAT IS GOOD

    and her bad acting, same old thing all the time>>
    And that singer at angie and Jessie's Wedding was AWFUL and the Helicopter plot was so bad I know what was going to happen 2 days before you got around to it>>

    I GUESS ALL MY CHILDREN SHOULD HAVE LOUSY SINGERS LIKE CLAY AKINS, AND BE LIKE CBS,I AM SICK OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING AMC IS STILL THE BEST SOAP ON .CHARLES PRATT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BOUGHT IN A LONG,TIME AGO. AS A LOVER OF GOOD R&B IT WAS GOOD TO SEE A BLACK SINGER ON THE SHOW,LONG OVER DUE .IF YOU ARE INTO COUNTRY SWITCH TO ANOTHER SOAP,ALL MY CHILDREN HAS ALWAYS CATERED TO ALL DIFFERENCES TASTE

    I love JR and i think he will do a awesome job as head writer for the show... i have been backing off the show somewhat because been getting on my nerves but i will be sure to keep watching now ,im sure JR will come up with some real schemes for the show can't wait!

    Dixie has been gone for a while and please don't become the soap known best for bringing back the dead they have brought back enough dead people it gets kind of ridiculous bringing back the dead

    Please keep Annie on the show and find a way that Richie could have faked his death so that Billy Miller can stay. Both Melissa Claire Egan and Billy Miller have great chemistry together. The are my fav to watch because of the realistic relationship as brother and sister. Unlike the other writers for someone who use to write for GH I am sure that there is a way to redeem him but keeping both Richie and Annie exciting. That is what the show is missing and will bring the ratings back up. I mean the mom could have faked her whole death and she or the dad could have been the reason Richie turn out this way. The story is not finished yet. However, if you fell to find a way to keep both Billy and Melissa then I am done with the show. It just isn't worth watching without my fav on anymore. I can't stand anyone else on the show and no one can forced me to like them. Thanks.

    I have noticed that the show has been better in recent days. I wondered what happened. I assumed there was a new writer or something.
