What they could've done and would have saved money is start the story from the beginning. Those that didn't watch early on would get a chance to see how Pine Valley came about....
IMO, the reality shows put lots of shows on the back burner. They don't have to pay them to much and they make lots of money. I bet lots of people would watch if they started over.Repeats couldn't cost that much to show.

I don't understand how they could possibly take both of these shows off the air when there is such a huge fan base attached to them! Especially when they are taking Soapnet off the air also. These shows have been a part of our lives for over 1/2 of most of our lives if not the entire thing. There has to be something that can be done whether it be to make another cable station like soapnet or move these shows to another station that will value them, as the rest of us do. I just can't even picture life without these shows! Unbelievable!!! SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!!

I gave up on ABC a long time ago- except for the soaps.

Now I only watch OLTL on SOAP.NET because the writers were clueless with AMC and grew sick of the propping up of criminals as heroes on GH.
I can't stand ABC as a network and their hypocritical policies.

I predict that the new shows will fail.

Goodbye AMC and OLTL- I've been a fan since I was a child. Sorry you weren't violent enough to stay on the air.

Oh come on, I just saw the two new shows. Don't we get enough of these shows on the cable network. Why does this have to be on network tv. I think the real reason for this is because in 2012 soap opera tv network is going away. From reading everyone's blogs, ABC is copping out. There are a lot more fans for soap operas than these other two shows combined. They need to take a hard look at their decision as they will lose a lot of fans that will give up on ABC altogether, I will stop watching every single program on ABC as I am sure a lot of other people will do and they will have to sell this network.

Brain Frons is an "IDIOT" and ABC just lost a slew of viewers. I have been a fan of AMC and OLTL since High School. I tivo the shows as i am busy and cant watch it everyday at the time it airs but I did watch every single last minute, good writers, bad writers, didn't matter. Soaps have provided education, a look in to a different society, it accomplished so many thing and now ABC is going to drop the best shows on TV for a Cooking show and a Talk Show. Do we really need another cooking show and talk show. OH Well, Time to watch NBC, i'm sure NBC will be happy to take all the SOAP fans from ABC. Days of our lives is a good show, but I always preferred AMC and OLTL. I will not watch any of the new shows and I hope no one else does either. ABC sucks and so does Brian Frons. Thanks for Killing an American Tradition !!!!

I've been watching All My Children since 1970. Why did they move them to LA to only have the show canceled. Who can we write? We don't need another talk show!

I am devastated! I have grown up watching soaps and One Life to Live has consistently provided the most compelling stories on daytime or anywhere else! No show can make me laugh or cry like OLTL. I can't believe they are getting rid of both of them. What a blow. I hope another network will pick them up.

I feel like I just found out that my best friend has died today. I'm devestated. I'm in shock.
I will not watch your new shows. "Chew" sounds like "barf" to me.
I have watched All my Children since I was a young teen. I will miss my family. I don't know how I'll go on actually. I wish the cast all the best. Susan Lucci you rock girl.

I'm stunned to hear this news, but not surprised that this is the network's decision. Too bad, b/c they brought 2 new characters on that have made things even more interesting. Nope, I won't be watching The Chew and Revolution; nor do I watch the View or any of the other talk shows (I can talk with my own friends, thank you very much). It's all about the money, but, then, so is everything today. I'm glad I'm not of this world and know where I'm going.
