I have watched All My Children and One Life TO Live since I was a young child and I am truly going to miss them. I always look forward to seeing what is going to happen next. Because I have watched them for so long I will like there is something missing. I do understand there will always be changes but I think right now there are too many shows that deal with food and etc, not that I don't like watching them because I do but I really like to have something else like these two soaps!!!

I think ABC is making a massive mistake and are going to realize that people are sick of reality television shows. I still feel that if they wanted to save these shows they could find a way. It is a shame that no other network would accept them or I wonder if ABC really tried to save them. Why not trim the cast and go back to half hour if they truly wanted to save them. No one around here is going to watch the new shows. So don't worry about anyone in Concord NH watching. They moved AMC to Los Angeles due to production costs, well that was obviously a lie. Why couldn't they move the soaps to ABC family channel, or to Soap Net. I hope Days of Our Lives and Young and Restless make such big gains that ABC loses the ratings rae.

It's unbelievable how ABC is taking AMC off the air. Millions of people watch every day. If they miss it during the day (working...) then at least they can see it at 8pm on cable. I've been watching since Erica wore blk/wht saddle shoes. I WILL NOT BE WATCHING KATIE COURIC. I W A N T ALL M Y C H I L D R E N !!**!! Is there some kind of petition we can sign????

SUCKS. I hope they are going to be happy when nothing else makes it on ABC.

I know ABC thinks the viewers want more "reality" tv. They are so wrong. I am "realitied" out. The good thing is these changes will free up my weekday afternoons for other activities. I am so sorry to see all our tv friends and villans depart, and wish them all well. :/

Our only hope is that some other network will pick up our soap, otherwise we are doomed to watch another VIEW, good heavens, why cant they see that we dont need any more shows on cooking or women sitting around nagging each other about their opinions. I will miss Michael E. Knights friendly face and Erica just being Erica. I hope all the amc cast and crew know how much we have appreciated them all these years.

why doesn't another network take over the cancelled soaps that way no one has to lose their jobs and the fans don't have to miss watching their farorite soaps like all my children, and one life to live

The cancellation of All My Children is as devastating to Soap Entertainment as the cancellation of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) was to Sports Entertainment, since World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) became a virtual monopoly in wrestling. Looks like the virtual monopoly thing is what will happen with Young and the Restless.

The biggest reason for the fall of the soaps is that the networks can no longer afford to pay the union wages of the screen actors guild, not the ratings. Even if these new cooking and nagging women shows don't get as high ratings as the soaps, they will still make a bigger profit for the bottom line, which is what network exec's need to keep their jobs.
