"The dream lives."

The always busy Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni) will soon be seen as Cosette in "Les Miserables." The movie is an adaptation of the world's longest running musical, which is based on Victor Hugo's novel of the same name.

Set in 19th-century France, the story revolves around paroled prisoner Jean Valjean, who seeks redemption. Along the way, he meets factory worker Fantine and agrees to care for her daughter Cosette after she dies. "Les Miserables" also stars Hugh Jackman ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine"), Russell Crowe ("Robin Hood") and Anne Hathaway ("The Dark Knight Rises").

"Les Miserables" opens in theatres Christmas Day 2012. Watch the trailer below for more.
