Hot on the heels of the announcement that Josh Duhamel will reprise his role as Leo Du Pres, comes word of another return. A rep for "All My Children" has confirmed with Soaps.com that Eva La Rue will also return to the show as Maria Santos. More details will follow.
Maria first appeared in Pine Valley in 1993. The good doctor embarked on a popular romance with Edmund Grey (John Callahan), who she eventually married. She was presumed dead after her plane exploded, but returned to town as Maureen Gorman many years later. She eventually regained her memory and reunited with Edmund. However, their marriage hit a few bumps and they became estranged. After Edmund was killed by Jonathan Lavery (Jeff Branson), Maria left town in 2005. Maria reappeared again in 2010 on Hayley's (Kelly Ripa) documentary as part of the show's 40th anniversary special. Along the way Maria had affairs with Dimitri (Michael Nader), Zach (Thorsten Kaye) and Aidan (Aiden Turner).
As for the actress, Eva has appeared on "CSI: Miami" since 2005 as Natalia Boa Vista. Are you looking forward to Eva/Maria's return?
