Born in Elwood, Indiana, David Canary was raised in Massillon, Ohio. His career began in a unique way.
Attending the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship, David played varsity ball throughout his college career and graduated as a music major, specializing in voice. Making his Broadway debut in Great Day in the Morning, Davids acting career was realizing success. Drafted by the US Army, David was named the best popular singer in the All Army Entertainment Contest. It was to be one of many awards to come.
After being released from the Army, Canary moved to San Francisco and appeared on stage in The Fantasticks.
Prior to joining the cast of AMC, David might be best know for his appearance as Candy on the series Bonanza. Canary enjoys returning to his first love and appears on stage in a variety of productions around the USA.
